KNOW YOUR RIGHTS: WORKPLACE DISCRIMINATION IS ILLEGAL

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) recently released a revised “Know Your Rights” poster (dated June 27, 2023) to include information about the protections under the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act

On December 29, 2022, President Biden signed the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA) into law. The PWFA, effective as of June 27, 2023, also requires covered employers to post a notice describing the law’s protections.

We advise you to print and post as soon as possible. The laws that require covered employers to post the “Know Your Rights” poster don’t provide a specific deadline for replacing the current poster with the revised “Know Your Rights” poster. Employers should remove the old poster and display the new one within a reasonable amount of time.

The poster is available in English and Spanish and will be available in additional languages at a later date.
